Questions we get asked every week.
If the answer you need is not here, call 0409 408 993 — you will get a straight answer rather than a booking for a “free assessment”.
How long does an under-sink installation take?
Most under-sink reverse osmosis installations take two to three hours. That includes mounting the system, running the line to a dedicated filtered-water tap, connecting to the cold supply, pressure testing, flushing the membrane and walking you through it.
Whole-house systems fitted at the mains take longer and depend on where your mains and existing pipework sit. We assess that before quoting.
Is installation really free?
Yes — installation is included in the advertised system price. The $299 3-stage and the $649 6-stage reverse osmosis are both installed prices, including GST, fittings and the filtered-water tap on the 6-stage.
There is no call-out fee and no after-hours premium. If a job needs something genuinely unusual, you hear the number before we start work — never on the invoice.
Do I need a plumber as well?
No. We supply and install the system ourselves, connected to your cold water supply with a dedicated filtered tap. You do not need to organise a separate trade.
Does reverse osmosis strip the minerals out of the water?
Reverse osmosis does remove minerals along with the contaminants — that is how the membrane works. It is also why every 6-stage system we install includes a remineraliser stage that puts calcium and magnesium back in afterwards.
That is the difference between water that tastes flat and water that tastes clean. If you want it alkaline as well, the Alkafuse system uses a magnesium-enriched remineraliser to reach pH 9 or pH 10.
Does it remove PFAS and fluoride?
Our reverse osmosis systems remove PFOS and PFAS, along with up to 99% of dissolved solids, heavy metals like lead and arsenic, chlorine, chloramine and bacteria. The tankless ED600 filters to 0.0001 microns and removes up to 99.99% of more than 1,000 contaminants.
A 3-stage carbon system removes chlorine, sediment and VOCs but will not remove PFAS or dissolved solids — for that you need reverse osmosis.
How often do the filters need changing, and what does it cost?
Sediment and carbon cartridges are typically annual. A reverse osmosis membrane lasts several years and gets tested rather than replaced on a schedule — we only change it when it has actually dropped off.
Servicing is $199 for an under-sink system and $250 for a whole-house system, with no call-out fee. That is the price, not a starting price.
Will it affect my water pressure?
Under-sink reverse osmosis runs to its own dedicated tap and does not touch the pressure at the rest of your taps. Systems with a pressure tank deliver a steady flow at the filtered tap; the tankless ED600 delivers on demand with no tank at all.
Whole-house systems are sized to your property so household pressure stays where it should. We check flow rate as part of every install.
Can you service a system you did not install?
Yes, and a good part of our work is exactly that. We service any brand, at the same fixed price, across Sydney, the Central Coast, Wollongong and Canberra.
What warranty do I get?
Every 6-stage reverse osmosis system — Standard PRO, Balance and Alkafuse — is covered by a lifetime warranty for as long as we service it annually. Keep the $199 yearly service on schedule and you will never pay for a failed part or a repair on that system.
The ED600 tankless reverse osmosis system carries a 5 year warranty. Taps and the IC8 chiller carry 3 year warranties covering parts and labour.
Keeping your servicing on schedule is what keeps the warranty active — that is true of every filtration brand, not just ours.
Where are the systems made?
Our reverse osmosis systems are Ecosoft, built in Belgium, using components sourced from the USA and Italy. They are not budget hardware — the price is low because we install them ourselves and do not carry a sales team.
Do you do commercial work?
Yes. Cafés, offices, gyms, salons, childcare and small industrial sites. Volume, hardness and the space you have available all change the recommendation, so call with the details and we will spec it properly.
Which suburbs do you cover?
Installation is Sydney-wide from our Revesby Heights base with no travel surcharge — including Bankstown, Parramatta, Liverpool, Fairfield, Auburn, Lidcombe, Canterbury and everything between. Servicing extends to the Central Coast, Wollongong and Canberra.
What's actually in Sydney tap water?
Sydney tap water meets the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines and is safe to drink — that part is genuinely true. Sydney Water adds chlorine to inactivate microorganisms, and small amounts of fluoride on the recommendation of NSW Health. Beyond that, water picks up rust and sediment from ageing mains and household pipes, trace metals from older plumbing, and dissolved minerals that cause kettle scale.
That last group — the dissolved stuff — is what a reverse osmosis membrane removes and a jug filter cannot. The full list of what each system removes is here.
Which system removes what?
3 Stage Under-Sink ($299): chlorine, taste and odour, sediment, rust, pesticides, VOCs and microplastics. It does not remove fluoride, PFAS, lead or dissolved solids — no carbon-only system can.
6 Stage Reverse Osmosis (from $649): everything above, plus up to 99% of dissolved solids, fluoride (90–97%), lead, arsenic and other heavy metals, nitrates, PFAS/PFOS, bacteria and viruses. The remineraliser stage puts calcium and magnesium back so the water doesn't taste flat.
Whole House 3-Stage ($2,599): chlorine, odours, rust and sediment at every tap, shower and appliance, and the Matrikx carbon block reduces PFAS/PFOS by around 95% across the whole home. Pair it with a kitchen RO if you want fluoride- and PFAS-free drinking water.
What does each stage of a reverse osmosis system do?
Stage 1 is a 5-micron sediment cartridge for sand, rust and dirt. Stages 2 and 3 are activated carbon for chlorine, chloramine, odours, pesticides and VOCs. Stage 4 is the 0.0001-micron reverse osmosis membrane — the part that removes dissolved solids, fluoride, heavy metals, PFAS and microbes. Stage 5 is a carbon polish for taste, and stage 6 is the remineraliser that puts calcium and magnesium back.
Keeping the carbon cartridges fresh matters beyond taste — chlorine slowly destroys RO membranes, so the stages in front of it are bodyguards as much as filters.
